“Bible Explorers /Transforming Kids”

Bible Explorers is our Sunday night Bible club for kids to learn Scripture,
study the Bible and have fun game times.
Our focus will be on learning our way through a book of the Bible each “semester”. We are starting with the book of John. Each week we will all have the same Bible verse to learn. This way we are really learning the verse and can say “I have stored up your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” (Psalm 119:11).  For our really energetic kids there will be an extra verse each night. Also, with the written work the kids do, there will be a weekly family worship/devotional to help you work through the same book your kids are learning. We are really trying something new in an effort to be sure kids and families are really learning the Bible.

What do I Need to Bring?

1. Shoes to run and play in
2. Bible (VERY IMPORTANT)
3. My Explorers notebook (This will be made on your first night in Explorers!)

Diggers (Ages 3-4)
Diggers use the great material from AWANA Cubbie clubs: The Awana club for preschoolers is built on two premises: (1) Young children can and should receive spiritual training. (2) Home is the primary place for spiritual training. Our preschool program meets these needs through … fun – and lots of it! Awana is fun with a purpose – to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

What does an Explorer night look like?

1. Game time (30 min)
2. Group (30 min)
3. Individual Study/verse learning (30 min)

Archaeologists – Game/Group/Study
Professors – Group/Game/Study
Games: In the gym, fun-time for different ages.
Group: Read Bible story/tell story (age-based), discuss, pray
Individual study: Learn verse, written work

Point System
Attendance-1 point
Verse-1 point
Worksheet-1 point
Bible brought-1 point
Extra verse-1 point
Lost Points – if behavior issues, points can be lost
Total possible – 5 points (per week)
Each semester we will have a store night and awards that will be determined by the number of points you earn. With the point system everybody will have the same opportunity to achieve and do well, all focused on learning God’s Word.
