The Bible tells us that Jesus' disciples "devoted themselves to His teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42). Those who knew Jesus continued to learn, to teach, to pray, and to mentor one another so that their faith would take root and grow to maturity.

Jesus does not want our relationship with Him to be limited to membership in His family. He has given us tools and means to learn about His life and how we should live, and to communicate with Him, so that our relationship with Jesus will grow and mature over time. For us today, the Bible itself is a textbook for the Christian life. Prayer...simply talking The really happy people are the ones making a difference.to God and listening for His response...is also available to us.

At Heritage Hills, we offer many opportunities to grow as a Christian. RTC Bible Study (Sunday School) is a core program at our church. Every week, hundreds gather on our campus to read and learn from the Bible. There are also many discipleship classes for all ages...some study specific books of the Bible and others are topical in nature.

How can you get started in our Discipleship ministries? A great place to begin is our Membership/Discovery Class. You will learn how we "do church", what is important to us, our commitment to the Great Commission, and the purposes God has for us as a church and as individuals.

Discipleship Opportunities

LIFE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

The Life Development Process includes a series of classes centered on our church's core purposes (worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, and ministry). It consists of helpful seminars that will hit all the key areas of a healthy, growing, relationship with Christ -- and give participants the opportunity for personal involvement in each of these areas.

The baseball diamond represents a process for moving people to deeper levels of commitment and maturity.

1st Base (Membership Class)

The membership class is for new members as well as non-members who want to know about us. It is an opportunity to find out about our mission, our beliefs, and what we expect out of our membership.

2nd Base (Maturity Class)

Learn the 4 essential habits that must be a part of every Christian's life in order to grow and mature as a believer..

3rd Base (Ministry Class)

At HHBC we believe "every member is a minister" We believe God has gifted you with a special gift to be used in the power of the Holy Spirit. This class helps you grasp a new start in serving where you are gifted.

Home Base (Missions Class)

Learn how to be on-mission around the corner as well as around the globe.

CROSSWAY DISCIPLESHIP

Many of you have done your Basic Training by completing all four bases in the Life Development Process. Now become “part of the game” as a player through CrossWay Discipleship. This is an opportunity for you to monitor your own spiritual growth, and, as a church, we will move on to maturity as Christians.

We will begin with the basic course, The Call To Follow Christ. As we did with the four bases, we are offering several opportunities for this class, and we are offering only this one class for 8 weeks so we can all be on the same session. Classes are offered on Sundays and Wednesdays.

The idea of CrossWay Discipleship is to help us recognize the fact that growing and developing into the kind of person God wants us to be is dependent upon us individually. I am responsible for me! I am responsible for my own personal Bible study and prayer time.

We have a personal evaluation tool that we will use to help us discover our personal level of commitment to Christ in four areas of our lives. Only you will know your score, and we will re-visit the personal evaluation tool periodically to give us the opportunity to see the progress in our own personal lives.
