The HHBC homeschool ministry is designed to help students explore their gifts/talents and learn to use those gifts and talents to honor and serve God.

Our goal is to provide a Christ Centered environment that will enhance the arts education as well as minister to the homeschool family.

We offer opportunities for
Music and Art Introduction,
Multi Level Band Classes,
and PE.

ATTENTION!!: Many Classes are full, but names are being accepted to be put on the waiting list.


Music Fundamentals Class Description:
Music Education will be offered to students K – 3rd grades.  This class in an introduction to music education.  Areas of instruction may include recorder, elementary music theory; choir and music appreciation activities.  Additional material may be covered based on the class and time schedule.  Dismissal times may be earlier for the youngest of students in this class to better accommodate all skill levels.

Band Class Description:
At this time HHBC HS Ministry does not have a current band offering.  We continue to seek God’s provision and direction in this area

Artistic Expression Class Description:
Artistic Expression:  There will be 3 classes offered in this elective category.  These classes will be designed to provide an opportunity for expression of creativity using the various mediums at an appropriate level for each student group.  Topics may include not only introduction to the various mediums but also basic art appreciation, famous artist and methods, and assorted art formats.  Each unit will be facilitated by parent teachers and all lessons and materials will be provided by the Homeschool ministry. 

Art I for students K5 –3rd grade:  In addition to the basic class description this class will include crafting opportunities, projects, and special units or activities from the home economics arena.                  

Art II for students 4th – 6th/7th  grade   

Art III for Middle and High School students - High School students may strive to receive elective credit for this course.  Requirements for those students will be given with each assignment



P.E. Class Description:

There will be 3 PE classes.  These classes will be divided based on age, ability and student numbers.  The basic class structure is as follows:

PE 1:  PK4 – 2nd /3rd grade

PE 2: 3rd /4th  – 5th  /6th  grade  
PE 3:  6th /7th – High School      

The PE classes are designed to promote increased heart rate, physical fitness and an opportunity for fellowship.  Students in these classes will participate in the basic Presidential Fitness Challenge as well as enjoy games that promote fun and fitness.

 

Drama:
The Drama group will consist of students 4th-12th grades.  This group is not limited to students who are interested in performing; students wishing to express their creativity and use their talents for the creation and design of sets are also encouraged.  The goal of this program is to provide a fun and relevant creative outlet for students.  It is also a goal of this program to give back and be a blessing to others. 

Practical Christian Life Skills:
This class is designed to enhance the foundation that you are building for your students in your homes.  Your student will be introduced to various practical Home Economics units as well as a well rounded introduction to practical Christian Financial skills and basic money principals.  The units will be taught using hands on methods and activities that are designed to both inform and entertain.  Each unit will be facilitated by parent teachers and all lessons and materials will be provided by the Homeschool ministry. 
Middle Level:  4th – 6th grades                                                                                                                            
Upper Level:  7th -12th grades – High School students in this class may strive to receive Home Economics elective credit for this course.   Requirements for those students will be given with each assignment.     
                                          

Class Schedule & Time Requirements: 
All classes will be conducted on Monday mornings during the time slots of 9:00am-12:30pm.  The scheduled times listed below are our goals for class schedules; however, adjustments may be necessary based on student numbers and space requirements.  It may not be possible for every child to take each class offered at his/her level.  We will do everything possible to allow total participation but cannot guarantee that at this time.  Your patience and understanding is coveted.
During these scheduled classes there will be REQUIRED permanent parent monitors for each room.  The number of parents required will be based on maintaining the proper adult to student ratio.   Parents will be given the choice for participating in the room that their child is in or requesting a different room.  It there is a reason you cannot serve as a parent monitor you must get with Tracee Wood upon registration to discuss alternatives.
