Dear Parent/Guardian:
We are writing to let you know of some new and exciting things going on in the children's ministry. On August 2, when we have our official promotion day, we will have Sunday School classes for all 1st - 5th grades at the nine o'clock hour. We are inviting all children to join us at this time for what we are calling MISSION 252. It is based on Luke 2:52 and will teach your child three basic principles through many exciting Bible stories. They are:
1) I need to make the wise choice.
2) I can trust God no matter what.
3) I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Each week, your child will bring home "Fridge Door Cards" which will contain their weekly Bible verse, the bottom line truth about the Bible story, and a few questions that you can discuss with your child about their lesson. We hope you will take the time to talk and share with your children.
During the worship time, we will bring back children's sermons in the 10:30 hour. If you would like your child to sit with you, that would be a good way to teach worship to your young one. For those in kindergarten through 2nd grade, there will be an abbreviated children's church after the children's sermon is finished. They will be dismissed from "big church" with the responsible adults after the children's sermon. If you have an older child, we will provide an adult to sit with your child in church should you be in the other worship service. Please do not send your older child to children's church as we have only enough resources planned for kindergarten - 2nd grade.
I look forward to seeing your children this year. We say good-bye to a faithful servant, Ms. Kelley Martin, as children's director and welcome Mrs. Gayle Garrison. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us or our new children's director.
Pastor Thomas Broadhead Gayle Garrison, Children's Director Pastor Fred A. Unger
